Romeit Diamond Drilling

AFAQ Mining continues to advance exploration activities at the Romeit Gold Project through an extensive diamond drilling campaign designed to evaluate the continuity, grade distribution, and structural controls of gold mineralization across the prospect.

The current drilling program represents an important milestone in the systematic evaluation of the Romeit area, one of the company’s promising gold exploration targets in West ELBAH Concession. The campaign has been designed to test mineralized structures at depth and improve the geological understanding of the deposit through detailed core logging, sampling, and structural interpretation.

Romeit Diamond Drilling Program Overview

Romeit drilling campaign includes 105 diamond drill holes completed across the project area, totaling approximately 20,600 metres of drilling. Drill hole orientations were planned to intersect the main mineralized structures and quartz vein systems interpreted from surface mapping, trenching, and previous exploration activities.

Diamond drilling remains one of the most effective exploration techniques for evaluating hard rock gold systems because it provides continuous core recovery and allows geologists to accurately study lithology, alteration, mineralization styles, and structural deformation.

At Romeit, drilling has focused on identifying the geometry and continuity of gold-bearing quartz veins hosted within altered and structurally controlled zones. The collected core data has significantly improved the understanding of the mineralized system and supports ongoing geological modelling activities.

Romeit Diamond Drilling Gold Intersections

Assay results from the drilling program returned several high-grade gold intersections associated with quartz veining and sulphide-rich zones. Multiple drill holes intersected visible mineralization and encouraging gold values, highlighting the potential for structurally controlled high-grade shoots within the Romeit system.

Among the notable assay intervals recorded during the campaign:

  • Up to 774 g/t Au over 0.5 metres
  • Up to 415 g/t Au over 0.5 metres
  • Multiple intervals exceeding 50 g/t Au across different drill holes
  • Broad mineralized zones associated with alteration and quartz veining

These results support exploration potential and indicate the presence of localized high-grade mineralization within the broader mineralized corridor and reinforce the exploration upside of the Romeit project.

Geological Interpretation of the Romeit Prospect

Geological logging from the drilling program confirms that mineralization at Romeit is strongly controlled by structural deformation zones and associated quartz vein systems. Gold mineralization appears closely associated with hydrothermal alteration, sulphide development, and brittle-ductile shear structures.

The drilling campaign has also provided valuable information regarding:

  • Structural orientations of mineralized zones
  • Distribution of alteration halos
  • Quartz vein density and continuity
  • Relationship between lithology and gold mineralization
  • Down-dip extension of mineralized structures

This information is critical for refining future drill targeting and advancing the geological model of the project.

Advancing the Romeit Gold Project

The ongoing exploration strategy at Romeit aims to systematically define mineralized zones with economic potential while expanding the known footprint of gold mineralization across the project area.

Future exploration activities are expected to include:

  • Additional diamond and RC drilling
  • Detailed structural interpretation
  • 3D geological modelling
  • Geochemical integration
  • Resource evaluation studies

Romeit project continues to demonstrate encouraging exploration indicators and remains an important component of AFAQ Mining’s exploration portfolio in Egypt.

Commitment to Technical Excellence

All drilling, sampling, and geological logging activities are conducted under strict quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures to ensure the reliability and accuracy of exploration data.

AFAQ Mining remains committed to applying modern exploration techniques and international industry standards throughout all stages of exploration and project evaluation.

Conclusion

The Romeit diamond drilling program has successfully confirmed the presence of high-grade gold mineralization associated with structurally controlled quartz vein systems in Egypt’s Eastern Desert.

The encouraging drilling results, combined with improved geological understanding and ongoing exploration activities, continue to strengthen the potential of the Romeit Gold Project as a significant exploration target.

As drilling progresses, AFAQ Mining will continue to refine the geological model and evaluate the broader mineralized system to support future development opportunities.
